Teaching Yoga was never the part of the plan.

Its been seven years since I gave birth to my daughter Avika. Even though I was very happy to be pregnant but the whole journey of pregnancy was very traumatic for me. I used to have 8-10 vomiting till seven months which reduced to 4-5 in eight and ninth month.I lost 4 kgs in my first trimester.Food became my biggest enemy neither I could go without it nor I was able to digest it.Moreove,I was teaching in college and was on my feet almost for 5-6 hours everyday.

Finally my water broke a week before my due date. I was induced. Labor was extremely difficult. As the contractions started getting faster I started vomiting again one of the rare side effects of induced labor.Even after 12 hours of labor I only dilated 4 cms. Then my baby's umblical cord wrapped around her neck and her hear rate dropped and I was rushed for c-section and my daughter had to be vacuumed out of me.

All this took a big toll on my physical and mental health. When my daughter was 18 months, I joined a yoga studio close to my apartment complex. I hated my first class. I was so weak that I couldn't do much. But I just dragged myself to the studio the next day. And, then the another day. And,the day after. After a week I found out that the yoga studio also offers yoga teacher training course. I enrolled myself into it as I noticed my back pain significantly reduced after few yoga classes.I thought it will be a great opportunity for me to learn more about it. At that time I never thought that after completion of the course I would make yoga teaching as a profession and especially prenatal yoga.

But now I feel so humbled to be a play a small role in making strong mommies and stronger babies :)
